Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from running for reelection, alleging she is unfit for office because of her support of rioters who attacked the U.S. Capitol.

'Let's not forget that our taxes support their salary, receive state money which comes from our property taxes, homeschool blogger which in turn supports the PS schools, so the schools, superindents, admins and teachers do work for us as tax payers,', wrote another.

The clause, passed after the 19th Century U.S. Civil War, prohibits politicians from running for Congress if they have engaged in "insurrection or rebellion" against the United States, or "given aid or comfort" to the nation's enemies.

If teacher pay had kept up with the increase in education spending over the last 50 years, he explains in one of his studies, the average annual teacher pay would be nearly $140,000 today. Instead, the national average annual teacher salary in the 2019-20 school year was just more than $63,000, according to the Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics.
