BEIJING, Nov 2 (Reuters) - TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew will step down as its parent ByteDance's chief financial officer (CFO) to focus on running the short video platform full time, according to an internal memo the company shared with Reuters.

The new rules announced in July are aimed at easing pressure on 6- to 15-year-olds in compulsory education as well as reducing the cost burden on parents, part of an effort to boost the nation's birth rate.

SHANGHAI, Sept 6 (Reuters) - China will set price ranges for after-school tutoring classes and will probe institutions' costs like teacher salaries, the state planner said on Monday, after the country barred for-profit tutoring in any school subject earlier this year.

In addition to the password-sharing fees, Netflix also plans to launch cheaper subscriptions supported by advertising next month.  After years of being relatively laissez faire about password sharing, Netflix started testing ways to get shared accounts to pay after dealing with its deepest subscriber losses ever earlier this year.

Local authorities will set benchmark fee standards and floating ranges that will take into account factors such as local economic conditions and family affordability, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a statement.

It would take the support of at least 24 of the league's 32 owners to oust him. Team owners did not vote on the matter on Tuesday but Irsay said he believed there was enough support for Snyder's potential removal, pending the outcome of the NFL investigation.

The company didn't specify the price of these new fees when it confirmed the plan Tuesday. But this scheme is already being tested in a few Latin American countries and charges a fee for each extra member worth roughly one-quarter the price of a "standard" Netflix plan. 

Streaming at any additional households for more than two weeks, would prompt the account to set up -- and pay for -- additional "homes," with a limit on how many additional homes you can add depending on how much you're already paying for Netflix. In July, Netflix said it would test a different method in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Netflix appears to be eschewing this model in favor of the other one it tested.  This test established an account's primary residence as the "home" for the membership.

Netflix's dominance of streaming video -- not to mention years of unflagging subscriber growth -- pushed nearly all of Hollywood's major media companies to pour billions of dollars into their own streaming operations. These so-called  brought about a wave of new services, including , , , , among others -- a flood of streaming options that has complicated how many services you must use (and, often, pay for) to watch your favorite shows and movies online. 

The NDRC also said localities should look into the costs of these tutoring institutions and ensure the salaries of their tutors are not significantly higher than those of teachers at the local public schools.
