I needed to speak today about a thing that I discovered a lot about in my Anatomy and Physiology and Health Psychology courses...our metabolisms! I really find them to remain quite interesting and I am hoping you'll too!

Did you recognize the term metabolism literally means "transformation?" It is the term used for describing the procedure by which our bodies change caloric consumption into power for those of our physical processes. Our metabolisms are continuously running. Whether we are exercising, eating, or maybe sleeping, our metabolisms are continuously working in order to help the bodies of ours: create new cells and tissue, maintain the temperature of theirs, repair injuries, and even perform all bodily activities in most cases!

Our metabolisms have been according to the foods that we eat. Most of the energy that our bodies have comes from animal and plant products that we ingest on a daily basis. This particular energy is actually measured in calories. After we eat the food of ours, the bodies of ours breaks down the various components to energy that it is able to employ to run different cellular processes. Any excess energy is then stored by the bodies of ours as fat or muscle so that it can be utilized in the future.

The Link Between Metabolism and Exercise:

Physical exercise plays a vital role in determining the speed at which our metabolisms work. Exercise helps to increase the metabolism of ours in 2 ways:

By burning calories: Whenever we do an activity, the metabolisms of ours obviously accelerate to burn up sufficient energy to fuel our bodily movements. The metabolic rate of ours is able to remain elevated for as much as twelve hours after we exercise!

By Creating Muscle Mass: As we work out, our bodies Get started (mi-reporter.com) rid of unwanted weight and begin creating increased quantities of lean muscle mass. This's why strength training workouts are so important! Because muscle burns more calories than fat, exercising is a natural solution to boost our metabolisms.
